Canine Teams
The Winter Garden Police Canine Unit is made up two canine teams. They are utilized in searching for suspects or missing persons, clearing business compounds and buildings, detaining violent criminals, and detecting narcotics.
Accomplishments
Since the re-installment of the canine unit five years ago, they have been successful in capturing multiple suspects, recovering stolen property, and in locating missing persons. The unit also assists other surrounding agencies when needed. The current K-9 teams are Officer Joseph Thompson with K-9 Dak and Officer Austin Pace with K-9 Maverick.
