All Active 50+ programs are held at the Jessie Brock Community Center, 310 North Dillard Street, unless otherwise noted. *Registration for programs starting on or after March 1st, 2026 will be available to City Residents on Wednesday, March 4th, and Nonresidents on Wednesday, March 11th, 2026.

The Ink And Quill Writing Group

Enjoy writing? Regardless of your ambitions or goals you will find stimulating fellowship and writing encouragement. Learn different styles of writing and share ideas to develop plots, characters and scenes to bring stories to life.  Writers below the age of 50 who are looking to improve their writing skills are welcome to attend.

Lunch and Learn— Health Central Park, Winter Garden

Orlando Health – Health Central Park Nursing and Rehabilitation Center is committed to delivering professional, compassionate care that enhances the quality of life for its residents. The facility features a beautifully landscaped courtyard, inviting gazebos, and outdoor grilling areas—perfect for meaningful visits with family and friends. Recognized as a leader in long-term care and rehabilitation, the center invites you to enjoy lunch, hear about its recent renovations, and take a guided tour of the newly remodeled facility.

Please note: Transportation is not provided for this activity. The center is conveniently located just one block from the Jessie Brock Community Center at 411 N. Dillard St., Winter Garden, FL 34787.

Lunch and Learn— GOLDEN POND COMMUNITIES, WINTER GARDEN

Join us for a special Lunch and Learn at Golden Pond Communities, a beautiful senior living campus dedicated to comfort, connection, and care. During this visit, you’ll enjoy a delicious lunch, take a guided tour of the community, and learn about the wide range of services and amenities available to support an active and fulfilling lifestyle. Discover how Golden Pond fosters independence and well-being through engaging programs, compassionate staff, and a welcoming atmosphere.

Participants may meet at the Jessie Brock Community Center to ride in a Parks & Recreation van to the location or meet directly at Golden Pond at 11:30 am (please select your preferred option when registering). Space is limited, so register early to reserve your spot.

A Matter of Balance

This four-week class is a nationally recognized program that emphasizes practical strategies to manage falls.   Empowering the participant to view falls as controllable, the class will teach earn exercises designed to help prevent falls, as well as the small changes one can make which will increase confidence in the future.  Space is limited, advance registration required.

My Critic’s Choice

Travel each month to a new restaurant for a casual lunch and critique the overall dining experience. Trip cost includes transportation only. Lunch is Dutch treat. Advanced registration required.

Shuffle Board

In this fun outdoor game, the players use cues to push weighted discs, sending them gliding down a narrow court, with the purpose of having them come to rest within a marked scoring area. No registration needed, just show up at the courts located in Trailer City at 21 East Crest Avenue, Winter Garden.

Sit, Stitch ‘n Give

Does life have you all tied up in knots? Join us for a chance to unwind. Come chat, knit, crochet, embroider, etc., and laugh with those who understand your desire to take a long piece of thread fiber and create a beloved "work of heart". Beginners are welcomed.

Switch Bowling League

Do you still have a passion for bowling but do not have the time, energy or strength to make it to the lanes? Teams of two are forming now for a new Switch bowling league. Teams will choose their weekly bowling time and partner before the first week of bowling.  If you would like to be on a team, please call 407-656-4155.

Our community has been around the world and back.  Each month someone from the senior community will share photos and interesting facts from their excursions.  Come and travel with us around the world!  Dessert and coffee/tea will be available.
