Boys and Girls Club June Family Branch in Historic East Winter Garden Neighborhood Holds Groundbreaking Ceremony
The Boys and Girls Clubs of Central Florida, in conjunction with the City of Winter Garden, held a groundbreaking ceremony on October 24, 2024, for a 20,000-square-foot facility, the June Family Branch. Located at 459 Ninth Street in Historic East Winter Garden Neighborhood, the new Club will include a Youth Center and a Teen Center and is expected to service 220 children ages 6-18 daily, a 400% increase over current capacity.
The building will sit on 2.44 acres and will provide flex space, services, and activities for kindergarten – 12th grade students, as well as meeting space for residents and local non-profit organizations. Construction will commence in late 2024.
On March 14, 2024, the Winter Garden City Commission granted approval to provide a land lease, waive fees, and contribute $1.5 million toward phase two of the construction of a Boys & Girls Club facility at 459 Ninth Street. The 20,000 square-foot building will be situated on 2.44 acres and include 39 parking spaces.
